Kate’s the real deal! Trained at the highest level in science based training, you and your dog will be thankful working with her!

Kate is a highly skilled trainer and a great teacher who makes learning fun.

I have been following Kate for some time now and although I am not in close proximity to her, I have found her online advice to be invaluable in training my reactive dog who also suffers from separation anxiety. I highly recommend Kate and anyone lucky enough to work with her will find that there is no better trainer anywhere.
Erin B. (Google review)
Kate is one of the kindest, understanding and thoughtful trainers. She comes with zero judgement and works with you with genuine guidance. We are so thankful to have met her.
Danielle P. & Luna, NJ, (Google review)
I can’t recommend Kate highly enough! It’s clear that she has a true understanding of the psychology behind dog’s behaviors. She provided incredible handouts and suggestions that are tailored to our dog. Kate went above and beyond to help give us the tools we need to set our new rescue dog up for success. We are seeing progress that we didn’t think possible each and every day thanks to Kate’s expertise!
Ana G. & Henley, NYC
I cannot recommend Kate enough. She has been invaluable both in helping with behavioral issues with my previous dog, as well as consulting and advising with my new adoption. Kate has given me a better understanding of canine language and behavior, helping me become a more effective communicator with my dog. Kate has been extraordinary with both her time and resources, and I feel better equipped to be the guardian and teammate that my pup deserves!
Candy S. & Odango, NYC
Kate is a wonderful dog trainer! As a first time dog owner, adopting a Shiba Inu to our home is wonderful and overwhelming!
For our first session, Kate traveled to our Queens home and showed us the basic commands like “touch”, “leave it”, “find it” etc., showed us how to do harness training to and crate training, to help him be less fearful of those things and helped us understand the dog’s body language and their thinking.
We learned so much about how to train our dog using positive reinforcement, and lots of patience and love! With lots of printed documents and followed up emails, Kate’s knowledge and experiences helped us and our newly adopted furbaby adjust pretty quickly!
After several weeks of training, our dog made big progress listening to our commands. He lets us leash him in less than 5 seconds and goes to crate with no fear at all! All thanks to wonder Kate!
From our experience, I’d strongly recommend Kate to any new dog owners / fearful new dog owners or any owner who need help to have a better relationships with their dogs!

I met with Kate online a few months ago and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a dog trainer. I had come up with an unexpected arrival of adopting my Grandma’s two (small) dogs, in addition to my much larger dog that I already have. Kate was great about scheduling a meeting quickly as time was of the essence and she gave me a lot of great tips. She is very no-nonsense and making sure we understand our animals was a top priority for her. She even went over the “scheduled” appointment time to continue talking with me, which I really appreciated. It’s clearly not just a job for her, it is something she is passionate about, and passionate about doing the right way for both humans and dogs alike.
Her price was reasonable and she even checked in a couple times after we spoke. I was very impressed with her work. You won’t regret choosing her!

Kate has been incredibly helpful and supportive as she has worked with me to manage my rescue dog Bo’s fearfulness and separation anxiety. She’s offered me effective strategies to implement to help him be the happiest possible version of himself. Her knowledge and expertise are second to none. I highly recommend Kate and Rescued by Training!

Overall, we are extremely happy. Our 8lb cavapoo male puppy Tiberius came into our household in March and we spent the first four months just trying to survive, he was like having a newborn. Once our routine stabilized and he was somewhat potty trained we knew it was time for some basic training. The vet recommended Kate. We bought the six session package where she would come to our home for an hour – it was $$ but we thought it would be a great investment. Most important to us was being able to call the dog to safety, getting him to goto bed, and perfect potty training. All of these things were achieved. Kate was good with our kids as well and made training fun. Thanks Kate!
Lisa S. & Honey, Summit NJ, remote client (Google)
Kate went above and beyond to help us with our dog, Honey. We rescued Honey but after being with us for about a month, Honey began biting people entering our home. Kate e-mailed, texted and was on the phone with us continuously during this incredibly stressful time. We ultimately had to surrender Honey back to the rescue, but Kate’s calm advice and constant handholding throughout this traumatic process was a godsend. Kate was incredibly thorough in laying out what training and treatment would look like and the time commitment, but she was also honest about Honey’s prognosis. The incredibly difficult decision to return Honey was made easier for us with Kate’s guidance. I would highly recommend Kate and would gladly give her more than 5 stars if I could!

Kate is the most passionate, understanding, and educated trainer available in the New York area (and probably beyond). Her commitment to my rescue Chihuahua has been above and beyond. She is more than a trainer. She has been a godsend for my fearful dog and I would recommend her to anyone.
Jen. R. & Patton, NYC, (Google review)
There are no words that can accurately describe how grateful we are to Kate. When we came to her in July, we were at our wits end. My dog was so scared and therefore reactive to everything. Living in an elevator building, it was so stressful taking her out and each time I did, I prayed that we had no reaction.
We worked with Kate and came up with a plan on how to work on Patton’s reactivity. More than Patton, she taught me how to train properly and how training doesn’t always look like the traditional training we think of. We were introduced to new ways to think about training and how to read Patton’s body language.
Fast forward to today. Going outside is no longer a stressful experience for us. Patton is able to enjoy walks and I’m able to read her body language and see when she’s getting close to going over her threshold and can redirect her now. Now when she sees a trigger, she looks at me instead of reacting. Once upon a time, she was terrified of men, but now she’s learning to go up to men and ask for pets.
She’s a happy dog once again. Our walks have become enjoyable again. I would not have been able to do this without Kate. R+ training is the way to go and Kate does a great job of being available and providing materials to help. I am forever grateful to Kate and cannot recommend her enough to anyone looking for a trainer. Don’t let the trainer over zoom scare you away; I was skeptical at first but I was given everything I needed to train my dog. I’m so glad we went with Rescued by Training.

I have a 5.5 year old dog, that we adopted from a shelter when he was a pup. He still is a shy/fearful dog even though we had a trainer come to the house when he was young. Kate suggested to look at a meds consult and stepped us through gentle training to help him with his shyness. With her and our vets oversight he’s come a long way because we can now invite company over and he doesn’t run through the house barking. Thank you and I highly recommend Kate and her program.
Liz W. & Fred (Google review)
Being involved in the animal rescue community and having had several dogs with behavior concerns throughout the years, I’ve worked with my fair share of trainers. Kate is by far the most knowledgeable, direct, and transparent trainer I’ve ever worked with. I initially learned of Rescued by Training when I heard Kate being interviewed as a guest on The Pet Loss Companion podcast. I enjoyed hearing her speak so much that I looked her up in the search bar of Spotify and learned she has been a guest on many podcasts. I was hooked. At that time, I started following her blog, where she shares both concrete training advice and behavioral insights – and it is free to access, which is a huge public service as training is not affordable to everyone.
I adopted my dog, Fred, as an adult three years ago and enrolled in a big-box three-week, M-F day training program that cost almost $3,000. I only had one issue I was looking to work on (reactivity on the leash and barking), and while he came out of the program having basic obedience skills, the behavior I was hoping to work on wasn’t properly addressed (it was suggested to use a shock collar when he barks which I now know is the worst thing you can do). Nothing improved, and I just thought this was a behavior we had to live with. Three years later, I couldn’t be more grateful I stumbled upon Rescued by Training – after one 90-minute session with Kate, I have a clear game plan for how to best help my dog, and it cost 90% less than the ineffective (and actually counterproductive) training he went through.
In the world of dog training, Kate’s prices are extremely affordable, especially given her impressive and extensive background. She won’t try to sell you any packages or rope you into anything like many trainers have done in the past. She focuses on individual needs rather than taking an umbrella approach for every client.
Meeting with her, you can actually feel her energy come through the screen – she is genuinely passionate about her work, incredibly knowledgeable, and compassionate. I recommend Kate to everyone – she is a true gift to pet parents, and she has not only improved, but SAVED countless relationships. If you’re feeling defeated, I am telling you from personal experience, your relationship can improve. I liken it to couples counseling for humans – understanding and insight go a long way. I find that while pet parents will spend whatever it takes on medical needs, training isn’t a priority, and it really needs to be. Addressing a dog’s emotional and behavioral needs is well worth the investment in your relationship.

Kate was extremely professional and knowledgable from the moment she walked through our door. She gave us hope with our little Teddy and has been available for a bunch of email follow up. She provided us with loads of information and has been a good support in helping us understand basic training concepts. We definitely recommend Kate!

PJ & Gracie (Google review)
I wish I had known about Kate when my Gracie was a puppy! But even now, at age 7, my fearful dog is so much better after working with Kate. We recently stayed in a hotel and were able to leave Gracie alone in the room without any problems! Kate not only showed me how to improve Gracie’s behavior, but also taught me WHY she reacts as she does. And what a difference that understanding makes! Kate is simply the best.
Amanda H. & Ruby (Google review)
Kate was a lifesaver when it came to our puppy Ruby’s separation anxiety. When we started with Kate, Ruby couldn’t even be alone for a minute in the apartment. She would cry, bark, throw herself at the door. We worked with Kate for nearly a year. Throughout that time Kate didn’t just help with the training aspect, she helped connect us with a great vet in NYC where we were able to try various medications for Ruby to also help with the anxiety. We had peaks and valleys throughout the training process, but ultimately got to a place where Ruby can be comfortably (and quietly!) home alone. We are SOOO thankful for Kate. Not only did she improve Ruby’s quality of life, but ours as well!!

My boxer has stranger danger, meaning he is fearful of strangers. Kate has helped come up with activities and techniques to help Yoda (boxer) deal with situations inside and outside of the house. The conference call was very professional and insightful. I appreciated the handouts and the opportunities to ask questions. The follow up notes added more ideas for working with Yoda and on how as his trainer what is expected of me. In order to achieve our desired results it will take time and patience, I believe Kate has given us the tools we need. I would recommend “Rescued by Training” for all dogs of any age and situation.

Kate is our everything. We have had such a hard time with our sweet yet fearfully/aggressive puppy (Stranger Danger in our apt is our issue).
Kate is the consummate professional. She is a remarkably responsive, experienced, thorough, detailed, and supportive Trainer. She is clearly an expert and was suggested to us by another esteemed trainer because of her fear/aggression expertise. Kate’s extensive experience is evidenced with her endless suggestions whenever there is an obstacle-and we have had many! Her commitment is so far beyond what I could hope for or even expect. Her profound knowledge extends to every arena of dog ownership and her love of the animals is quite clear. She provides tough love when we need it, and is completely reasonable about real life, unlike suggestions we have received from one of our past vets. And we appreciate that tremendously as we know she is giving us honest answers and that’s the only way trust is built.
At first I thought the pricing seemed a little high considering it was via Zoom, but when I experienced how much access you have to Kate and her expertise and that you can actually make material progress via zoom and with her support-I’ve come to realize she is under-charging-but thank you Kate! Kate fortunately already had a web based option prior to the pandemic-as she works with clients and trainers worldwide-so, we have been incredibly fortunate to benefit from her having that set up and not having to struggle through that with her!
With an issue like Stranger Danger-it’s quite difficult to manage and progress at. We had been working on this for 3 months prior with others (who in their defense encouraged us to see the expert-Kate-and we ignored that until things had escalated to the point our other trainer who was great-told us we needed to see Kate).
Kate has helped support/teach/train us to effectively do that and see substantial progress in the month we have been working with her. She has already helped with countless other issues as well and we can see a real difference in our puppy’s anxiety and training.
She seamlessly works with our Behavioral Vet to help facilitate the training part of it and leaves the meds part to the trusted Vet. We truly feel like we have a team working with us and firmly believe we will resolve our issues which we have had concerns we would not be able to overcome in the past.
We are now beyond loyal to Kate and are immeasurably grateful for her!

I wish I had found Kate/Rescued By Training sooner. We adopted our dog Gus right at the beginning of the pandemic. A year later we were still unable to leave him home alone due to his separation anxiety. After working with Kate for just over a few months, Gus is able to be alone for almost two hours! I really don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t found Rescued By Training. Kate is extremely knowledgeable and very kind. I cannot recommend her enough!

Lexi G. & Merlin (Google review)
Kate did an amazing job working with my dog Merlin and I .
I got Merlin as a puppy at 8 weeks old. I work from home and didn’t prioritize leaving him alone enough and he developed separation anxiety .
Living in an apartment complex and getting a lot of noise complaints I was desperate for solutions. In comes Rescued by Training .
Working daily with Kate to figure out Merlin’s threshold and desensitizing him to departures was not easy and took work but overtime we were able to get from only 10s leaving him alone to 90min and it will only improve from here. I feel like I have my life back again and my dog is much happier and that’s all thanks to Kate .
If your dog has separation anxiety I 100% recommend Rescued by Training!
Edit: we’re up to 4 hours today!
Rebecca B. & Blue (Google review)
I am so grateful for Kate! When I rescued my 2 year old dog Blue, I learned he was very fearful of going outside (refusing to go to the bathroom or walks) which was distressing and was feeling decision paralysis about making the wrong choices that could make his fear even worse.
Working with Kate taught me how to meet Blue where he is, increase his confidence, and how to positively reinforce good behaviors to build trust between us and reduce his fears. With Kate’s training programs and support, Blue now LOVES going outside to sniff, play, and go to the bathroom easily. We can get him in and out of the car easily to go to doggy daycare. It feels night and day from our fears of going outside only 4 weeks ago.
Can’t recommend Rescued by Training enough!

I bought the Fostering 101 course. As I am thinking of Fostering. It is packed with a ton of information and I can learn at my pace and go back and review things. This course was well worth my money and will be buying more courses in the near future. There is a lot of free resources and personal help she offers also. I highly recommend Rescued By Training! As it has been a life saver for me and my pups!
Danny U. & Ruthie (Google review)
Working with Kate – Rescued By Training has been truly life changing for us. Our rescue, Ruthie, has severe fear based anxiety, intense separation anxiety, and other issues stemming from her trauma as a puppy. A vet recommended Kate to us and working with her has been a long road. We’re about 2 1/2 years in and are just now finally getting to 4-5 hour successful departures. While we haven’t officially “graduated”, Kate has patiently worked with us these long, long years to try to understand Ruthie, and help her the best we can.
What’s really significant about working with Kate is, she not only shows you what to do via specific training exercises and missions – but she really taught us how a dog with fear and fear based anxiety thinks and functions in the world.
We’re experienced dog owners (we lost our 18 year old Satine in September 2020 before rescuing and adopting Ruthie in December 2020), so learning how Ruthie sees to the world and how she interacts with other dogs/humans has given us a vocabulary and awareness we would’ve never had otherwise.
Thank you Kate! The great work continues and we’re so appreciative!!! 🙂

Kate has a wealth of knowledge and resources for better training and connecting with your dog. She is very passionate about the field of dog training.
Barbara K. & Shelby, NJ
I was very distraught with my highly fear-aggressive rescue, Shelby, a 65 lb mix of sled dog/shiba/Sheltie. It was getting to the point where she would become aggressive towards us if we tried to touch her. So I was referred to Kate and it was the best thing I ever did.
Kate came to my home and was able to assess the situation. She totally understood my dog and knew what she needed. She taught us what to do, how to help lessen Shelby’s fear of touch, and explained what a highly fearful dog needs. She takes her time and really explains things to you so you really understand why what she is teaching you will work.
Kate even went above and beyond and found a fear free certified veterinarian for me. I couldn’t have done this without her. And Kate was always there for any questions or concerns I had. She really cares and is always there for you and your dog.
We worked with Shelby and saw things change. We can now touch her with her being comfortable. A huge change. Shelby will always be a fearful dog, but knowing how to make her feel comfortable and less fearful has greatly improved all of our lives. Thank you so much Kate!
If you need help with your dog, I would HIGHLY recommend Kate. She is a true professional and highly educated in this area.

As a rescuer myself I find it important for the right advice for rescued dogs.
Elizabeth P. & Moo, NJ
After adopting a stray, we knew we needed someone to help us work out some of his fear-based behaviors. I was so lucky that a friend recommended Kate!
Kate is impressively qualified and so kind. Moo loved her right away, and we saw her work her magic with him from the second she walked in the door! She always explains the motivation behind a dog’s troubled/troubling behaviors and is careful not to recommend anything that could worsen a dog’s anxiety.
By the time she leaves at the end of a session, we feel comfortable knowing what our next steps are in terms of training, and are a lot more at ease! Kate shows up extremely prepared and leaves us with really useful materials that clearly outline our new training plans, and she follows up with detailed session notes. She’s so professional and organized. I wish I’d known about her sooner — my last dog had issues with aggression, and I know Kate could have helped.
Kate is a really extraordinary resource, and has done a lot for us in terms of making sure our dog gets the happy, healthy life he deserves. I’d recommend her without reservation!
Tom L. & Seymour, NYC
After adopting my dog, Seymour, from a rescue shelter, he exhibited anxiety-driven behavioral problems such as leash aggression. Kate worked with me after the adoption to work through Seymour’s issues using positive reinforcement techniques. She also left me tips on how to teach Seymour other tricks! He is now a well-adjusted dog. Thanks Kate!

Kate was a miracle worker for me and my puppy who suffered with major separation anxiety. Through months of training, advice and introductions to the right vet and resources, my pup has learned how to survive being home alone. I’d recommend Kate to anyone who has a SA pup and needs help.

I received such wonderful support from Kate when I had to let my sweet dog cross over the Rainbow Bridge in July. Rescued by Training provided remote end of life care and advice with kind words and expert written resources.
JP & Winston (Google review)
Kate at Rescued by Training is absolutely everything you want in a trainer! I am so grateful to have found her for my separation anxiety rescue dog. When I started my SA training journey with my dog in Feb 2022, I knew NOTHING. I initially went to a veterinary behaviorist who used her own CSAT trainer, and we were NOT a good fit. While that trainer was highly educated, their style was as different from Kate’s as night and day. So I abandoned my initial team and found Kate at RBT on my own, and thank heavens I did. Not only is she highly educated, she is empathetic, she is an excellent communicator, she provides LOADS of free resources (check them out now!!!), and I felt like she genuinely cared about me and my dog. She always made sure I understood her explanations and instructions and always asked if I had questions about anything at the end of our sessions. I really cannot recommend her enough. SA training (or any behavior issue) can be a rocky and emotional journey, and you want someone like Kate on your team. I’m happy to say my guy graduated quickly from her SA program! He has some other fear-related issues, and I’m looking forward to working with Kate again.
Amy W. & Beau, NYC
Kate was so patient and fantastic with Beau that I saw changes within the first 24 hours of our first session. I believe in positive training and she is the best in the NYC area. I had other trainers for Beau prior to being recommended to Kate and I clearly see why she is so highly recommended. The other trainers didn’t have the same expertise, techniques or follow through that Kate does. Kate equipped Beau and I with all the knowledge and training materials to make a HUGE difference in Beau’s fear anxiety and fear aggression! I am beyond grateful for Kate!
Viv N. & Chauncey, Stamford CT, (Google review)
I don’t even know where to start. We came to Kate with our pup’s separation anxiety after a year of trying other trainers and making no progress. We were so afraid that there would never be a way to get our pup comfortable with staying home alone and from Day 1, Kate helped reassure us that there was a path and light at the end of the tunnel.
Over 3 months of working together we went from 0 seconds alone to 2 hours alone. Our pup now sleeps through his time alone and is so much more comfortable and relaxed.
The road hasn’t been easy, but Kate has guided us through vet visits, daily missions, and any setbacks. Her compassion and knowledge are unmatched. We wouldn’t have made it to graduation and peace of mind without her!

Allison A & Raikou, NYC (Google review)
We adopted Raikou from Animal Haven and had training sessions with Kate. Since Rai was a rescue from Korea he was definitely more on the nervous side (especially now living in NYC) but with Kate’s help, we were able to train him with positive reinforcement and build up his confidence. He has no problems walking in the city and still knows everything we learned from Kate, like recall words and puppy push ups etc. Kate was great to work with and was super helpful with transitioning Rai into our family. 🙂

Kate is simply amazing! Unlike many “trainers”, Kate has done the work to learn the best, science-based methods for helping my best friend and I’m forever grateful. She doesn’t just train as a job, she invests her heart into my dogs and myself. 🐕
Tania M. & Saga, NYC
Saga has been breaking through her milestones despite tumultuous circumstances which is nothing short of a testament to good training.
She stopped destroying furniture and actively sought out affection from individuals, some who have told me that they were scared of big dogs until they met my Saga!! She’s a gentle, sweet giant who loves humans which is the dream I had for her 1.5 yrs ago when I first saw her at the shelter. Kate made this possible by teaching me to respect her language and her boundaries and giving me the tools to assert my limits in a thoughtful way that allowed for my relationship with her and my old little rescue coexist together beautifully.
We look forward to lounging together late in weekend mornings, playing with other dogs and people watching in the pier without fear and Kate helped make that happen. Thank you ever so much !
Brittany K. & Coco, NYC, (Google review)
Kate helped our pup Coco conquer her separation anxiety! Coco went from being able to stay by herself only a few seconds without having a meltdown, to now calmly staying home by herself with no time restrictions! We used to have to ask a friend to watch her every time we left the apartment. It has completely changed our life to know that our little one is totally fine while we’re out whether at work, dinner, etc. Thanks, Kate!!
Jodi A. & Sandy M. (and Maddie), NJ
Kate was recommended to us by a friend and we couldn’t be happier that she came into our life. We were looking for help with our black lab/pit mix who could be aggressive with unfamiliar people when they came to the house or into her space on a walk. From the start, Kate helped us to understand some of the science behind Maddie’s behavior; explained her positive reinforcement approach, and gave us examples and “homework” after each session. I’m now a firm believer of the positive reinforcement model because I’ve seen how our dog has improved dramatically. Kate was able to specifically tailor a step-by-step program for us to follow and was always available for questions and feedback between sessions. The decision to have Kate educate us and help Maddie was the best thing we could have done for our dog and our family!

Kate is a “dog whisperer”! With only positive reinforcement, Kate took in my 10 week old sharpei and worked with him for 14 days. The videos and communication daily would put anyone to ease as to how their pet was being treated. No hesitation whatsoever in recommending her in the future. Absolutely the best!

I learned so much about dog behavior from Kate. The consultation was invaluable for me. She gave me a greater understanding and appreciation for my dogs. I had a complicated situation with my pack of 4 and I truly thought that I would have to rehome one of my dogs. The thought broke my heart. But with a lot of knowledge from Kate, patience, time and consistent training, I’ve been able to keep my pack together.

My rescue pup, Hattie, was struggling with separation anxiety. After the initial first assessment we started working on Hattie’s (and my) behavior. Kate gets right to the base of his issues and is willing to answers all questions I had (which was a lot!) Hattie is regaining her confidence, and in turn is a much happier dog!

I highly recommend Kate for any dog owner, and especially for anyone who has a fearful or reactive dog. She gave us tools to help our dachshund become more comfortable with having strangers in the house, and to help our pit bull be less reactive around other dogs while walking. She’s very consistent with following up to make sure things are going well and offering new suggestions to cater specifically to what our dogs need. (from Google)

Kate LaSala and Rescued By Training are a solid, trustworthy resource for dog owners who are tired of quick fixes and bad advice.
What really stands out is how much depth there is behind everything she puts out. Kate clearly knows her stuff, and she’s good at breaking down complicated behavior topics in a way that actually makes sense for real life, not just training theory. Her courses and resources focus on helping people understand what’s really going on with their dogs and how to think through problems, not just follow a checklist.
Rescued By Training is especially helpful for dog owners dealing with fear, aggression, or more complicated behavior challenges where context matters and one size fits all advice can do real harm. There’s a strong emphasis on ethical training and doing right by the dog, which is refreshing.
If you want smart, well-informed guidance you can trust, Rescued By Training is absolutely worth paying attention to.

Kate trained our 11 week old Havanese, Zuzu who will be living in our busy home with children and two cats. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient, genuine, and empathetic. Kate was a beacon of light, teaching Zuzu socialization and obedience skills with positive reinforcement, humor and love. Her professionalism, dedication and passion came across in every interaction I had with her in phone calls, videos and in person. I would recommend her in a heartbeat!

We sought out and found Kate to help us with our rescue dog that we adopted about a year ago. During our first year, we lucked out and experienced almost no behavior issues. But once he reached about the 2-year old mark, a few minor but concerning issues started cropping up with some regularity. After poking around Youtube videos for ideas, which were completely ineffective and in retrospect likely made some of the issues worse, we decided to seek professional help.
Given the nuanced nature of the issues (dog aggression, resource guarding, and humping – but only in very specific situations), I suspect Freddy presented a challenging assignment. Despite that, we are more than pleased with Kate’s help and the outcomes with our dog.
I attribute this success to a few key elements of Kate’s approach:
- The very thorough client in-take and background questionnaire
- The clearly written and described training handouts we received as homework
- The specific behavior modification examples of her pets and others that she described during our in-person session
- Her explanations of dog psychology and linking it to why certain approaches work and others don’t
- Her clear love of these animals and wanting both the animals and the humans to have an improved quality of life
Although our homework training required real commitment (in patience and time), we’ve seen an 80 to 90% improvement in Freddy’s problem areas, and a complete elimination of one problem behavior in particular. Freddy gives Kate 4 paws up!

Kate has gone over and above with her help with our fearful and anxious boy, Fergus. We were a little apprehensive in using remote training, but now we have no qualms about it. The training tools and advice have all given positive results, and we’ve seen a huge positive change for our boy. Kate always goes the extra mile, checking in regularly and always available for a quick consult should a situation arise that we need a little help with I very highly recommend Rescued by Training!! Without Kate I would be a different person. That sounds dramatic, but it’s true.
I rescued two street dogs from India who had a ton of adjustment to go through. They were scared of inside, outside, being left alone, new people, AND resource guarding. They also weren’t potty trained. We also realized one of them had epilepsy. They ate our walls, ripped trim off the doors… it was brutal. They had to go everywhere with us, we stayed home basically all the time, and thought we had ruined their lives and ours. We literally couldn’t even check the mail.
It was horrible. I knew there would be tons of adjustment before they arrived, but I truly could not have understood the depths.
Enter Kate — not only did she help us understand what was happening from
a biology & behaviour perspective , she gave excellent, practical advice. She helped me reframe my role —her simple mantra “they’re not giving you a hard time, they’re having a hard time” helped me realize I am the steward of my dogs’ peace, and I committed to helping them.
I will admit I hesitated at the prices. Four years later I can say I truly have zero regrets, it was worth every penny. I just recommended her to my sister, who has also found this incredibly helpful. I ENJOY my dogs. I have a life outside of my house!
And my dogs? Some days I can’t even get them out of bed because they’re so relaxed. They come to us for love & affection, not because they’re worried we will leave them. Earlier this week we had been out for 4 hours and wondered “should we go home?”. When we did, they didn’t even come downstairs. Truly night and day.
Don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it.

I worked with Kate when I was navigating my foster dog’s end-of-life journey. Kate provided much needed emotional support and comfort during a difficult time, and also offered really helpful information and resources as I planned logistics for my foster dog’s rainbow bridge crossing. Kate has so much experience with fostering and with shelters as well, and her insight was invaluable. I highly recommend Kate’s companion animal end-of-life doula services!!
Karen J. & Yeti, Ithaca, NY, remote client (Google)
I rescued one year old pit bull mix Yeti from the local SPCA at the end of March 2020. The first year of his life was a mystery, as he was a stray. Several weeks after I adopted Yeti, he began to demonstrate odd, rather aggressive behavior. A local trainer recommended Kate. Though I was skeptical about a training session via Zoom, after our first session with Kate, Yeti and I had learned a lot. Kate was patient and encouraging during the session and follow up sessions. Kate is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all things dogs. She helped me to find an appropriate daycare for Yeti, suggested unique ways to feed him (via snuffle mat), and reinforced the fact that dogs can and should be taught to respond through positive communication. Yeti will do just about anything for a treat! This makes our training time together fun, calm, and drama free. Kate can and will help you…even from a distance!
Adrienne S. & Scotty, NJ
Rescued by training helped my golden retriever Scotty get over his fear of taking walks after a dog attacked him. Kate provided and demonstrated very useful techniques to help him overcome his fear. Now Scotty and I are back to taking our long walks together!
Kate also helped me train Scotty to become a certified therapy dog. Through her efforts and recommended exercises, Scotty was able to pass the Bright and Beautiful therapy dog test and is a proud member of the Bright and Beautiful therapy dog group. We go to hospitals and nursing homes bringing comfort to patients and staff.
Kate’s techniques and regimen are easy to administer and actually work to produce the desired results! I recommend Kate and Rescued by Training highly!!!

Kate is extremely knowledgable and helpful. I started working with Kate the week after I brought home my 8 week puppy. I am extremely grateful to have worked with her during the critical first few months of my puppy’s life with me. I fully believe my puppy is well adjusted and confident due to Kate’s advice and training. She has the special skill of reframing common dog tropes into a more humane way of looking at our companions.

We are first time pet owners who brought in a 9 week puppy home. We did a one hour session with Kate by phone – absolutely recommend to anyone with a little puppy. Excellent tips, simply explained and the fact that she started always from the underlying psyche of dogs – I felt a whole lot more confident. We were struggling with my pups play biting and her tips made such a difference in just one day! Thank you Kate!

Kate was extremely helpful, thoughtful, and compassionate during a time of high stress and major life choices when our infant was added to the mix. Kate provides thorough information and meaningful discussion that helped us make the best choice for our family. She was realistic and gave options which I really appreciated!! Even after our consultation, Kate continued to follow up because she cared without any monetary incentive which I appreciated above everything else. She was a huge support and I cannot thank her enough. I want to refer anyone and everyone to her. THANK YOU KATE!!!!

With Kate’s expert guidance and support, we feel so much more in tune with our rescue dog’s needs. Remi’s resource guarding behavior had re-surfaced and escalated to an unmanageable level, but Kate helped us feel reassured and hopeful as we worked to identify and manage his triggers.
From her commitment to positive reinforcement training to the way she speaks about an animal’s experience, it is clear that Kate’s compassion for animals fuels her work.
I would highly recommend Kate for any dog owner struggling to understand their companion’s behavior. We have worked with trainers in the past and she is by far the most knowledgeable, compassionate, and responsive. Our little family couldn’t be more grateful for her help!

Kate is such an amazing person and an absolutely wonderful trainer. I booked one of her doula packages for our late but great 12 year old puppy dog and I don’t even want to think about where I would have been without her help and guidance. She gave me so many helpful tips and suggestions for my dogs memorial and how to make our worst day ever (saying goodbye) as good as we could make it. I will forever be eternally grateful for her kindness and compassion as we navigated that painful moment, and all the painful moments after.
Liora F. & Ollie, NYC, (Google review)
Kate has helped my rescue dog Ollie so much, it’s really like night and day. Ollie was a puppy mill rescue who was skittish, terrified of everything, couldn’t get the hang of basic training, and would run away from men. Although Ollie still is a more shy, nervous dog, she has come out of her shell with the help of Kate and Rescued by Training. She’s able to be alone in my apartment without separation anxiety, knows basic commands, and walks all around the city without any problem. She even loves hanging out with my dad! Kate has been so available to me throughout the process of adoption and decompression and beyond, answering all of my questions. All of the training/tricks I’ve wanted to do, Kate already has a worksheet for it that breaks down the processes in smaller steps that make everything feel manageable. I really cannot recommend using Rescued by Training enough.

Working with Kate is truly a game changer! My puppy suffered from pretty bad separation anxiety and with steady, hard work over the course of a few months, I can now leave him alone for hours. So thankful to Kate as I can now have my life back! Highly highly recommend! She is attentive, responsive, well educated and knows what she is doing.

worked with Rescued by Training (Kate) to determine if my dog was suffering from separation anxiety. This was a hugely stressful time for me, living in a townhouse and dealing with unfriendly neighbors.
The process and organized approach that Kate took was exceptionally well put together and impressive. All the bases were covered, from the daily missions to the weekly checkpoints. Within the first week, we identified what we believed the challenges were and then confirmed that in the second week. We then put together an action plan to address these challenges, and it worked flawlessly.
If you have any challenges with your pet, you will be amazed at how quickly Kate @ Rescued by Training can help you solve them. I recommend Rescue by Training in the most absolute terms.

Dash K. & Chief, NYC
Kate has been wonderful and so helpful for us on our journey with our dog Chief, from day one! When Chief was surrendered to the shelter, he was completely shut down and terrified. Through Kate, I was able to sit with Chief and get to know him a little in the shelter, and able to bring him home.
We enrolled in Kate’s “Mind Your Manners” training course, which taught us to train Chief in a positive way built on trust. But even more so than that, Kate has gone above and beyond to help us not just train Chief but to get him to open up and become less fearful.
Since his adoption, she has been available to answer questions on how to address certain issues we were having with him, from stealing socks to being terrified of guests to walking the streets of New York. Through Kate’s sound and loving advice, Chief has come leaps and bounds from the shut-down dog he was in the shelter, and is enjoying life now!

Recently I was contacted to help with a very fearful 100 lb dog. As a recent graduate it was my first “big dog” case in fear and aggression. I wanted to be sure my training plan was perfect and consulted Kate. She listened to all the information I had, gently nudged me out of some wrong decisions and replaced them with correct ones and I took the whole thing to the owner. The dog is thriving and the owners are thrilled. Kate’s experience, training methods and knowledge = very lucky dogs (and owners) that employ her help whether local or like me, long distance.

Maddie P. & Houston, NYC
I’d like to start off with the following: I could not recommend Kate (Rescued by Training) more highly! Putting it simply, Kate is the best. Truly, *the best*—the most invaluable resource we couldn’t have even in our wildest dreams imagined! Her depth of knowledge and her care/commitment/dedication to her clients (dog and human alike!) is just amazing.
Kate has guided us through many not-so-easy journeys with our rescue gal, Houston, and she has allowed us to not only learn to understand Houston a little bit better, but has also allowed us to feel more confident in how we approach more challenging situations. We have seen firsthand how the fear free, science-based training Kate has dedicated her life to really works!
Initially, Kate was helping us with teaching our Hurricane Harvey rescue gal, Houston, some fear-free/positive reinforcement general obedience/husbandry training/offering a wealth of brilliant knowledge on ways to keep Houstie mentally engaged/stimulated through both her heartworm tx and spay (and life in general!). She provided (and still provides!) a vast amount of knowledge, guidance, and beautiful support for these new (slightly neurotic!) dog parents.
After our babe started experiencing some fear responses towards kids and then towards some humans, Kate swooped in with her tremendous ideas/resources (i.e. teaching us counter conditioning techniques—which, with time and diligence, WORK!). She connected us to a vet behaviorist who had a fabulous vet-to-vet consult with our vet. Now our girl is on medication and is doing so much better! Kate has opened our eyes to so many aspects of a dog’s world, allowing us to better understand/navigate/compromise living this life with our sweet girl.
We are so grateful to Kate for all that she has done for our family; and even though Houston cannot talk, it’s evident that we have grown leaps and bounds together as a family with the help of Kate—she really is the best there is! We are forever grateful to and for Kate, and thank our lucky stars that the universe brought her into our lives. We adore you, Kate—thank you for all you do!

Kate really helped us understand our very reactive dog a lot better and make a manageable plan so we could coexist. He’s made a lot of progress. It was also wonderful being able to have online sessions during the pandemic. She has never hesitated to answer questions and spend lots of time on us and our needs (which were many!). I recommend her highly.

Kate is so knowledgeable about about SO MANY aspects of dog care, behavior, training – it is really impressive! She even recommended to discuss a liver support supplement to help our pup’s liver enzymes when they were elevated. She is so patient, gentle and has such a way with dogs and the people who love them. HIGHLY recommend her to help with all of your training needs.
Hilary E. & Evita, NYC
Rescued by Training completely changed the way we approach our dog, Evita’s behavior. Kate helped us to better understand the root cause of our dog’s issues, and to address those issues with compassion, patience, and positivity.
When we adopted Evita, she had strong resource guarding instincts and was reactive to other dogs. Kate helped us to develop a clear plan to address Evita’s behavior and provided us with a folder full of printed notes, resources, and tips after each session. We know Kate is always available if we have questions or concerns. Evita has come such a long way from her first day in our home and is happy, healthy, and thriving thanks to Rescued by Training. We strongly recommend giving Kate a call.
Deborah K. & Lucky, NYC
Kate helped us set a solid foundation for our newly adopted dog, Lucky.
Lucky was an extremely skittish and anxious dog. He was scared of sudden movements, new people and the big city. After the first class with Kate, Lucky was PULLING to get there on time! He loved the treats and training time. Most importantly, he felt safe and comfortable. He was able to pick up basic commands week after week, and we were able to take away useful tips for building up his confidence and manners.
Kate is a wonderful, patient, and knowledgeable trainer. You and your dog will love working with her!

VERY Highly Recommend!!!! Everyone told me Wheatons are very hyper and hard to train; our dog was a crazy little jumper who became the best of 7 Wheatens at our Vet. I credit this school for the excellent insight and training. We loved them so much we just took our new Portuguese Water dog here in 2021. He completed Kindergarten and is starting Beginning One training this week. The staff here is really phenomenal. They not only know what they are doing with superb training but are very adept at handling individual animal concerns as well. They came highly recommended from a Breeder friend several years ago and I highly recommend after using with two different dogs over 10 years! The value also can’t be beat for the excellent training. – Donna and Eric

My wife and I were searching for a Positive Reinforcement Dog trainer, which is more challenging than one would think as most trainers use some aversive techniques.
We were extremely happy to find Kate who met with our entire family of 5 including 3 children ages 4-12. Kate’s strategy was to help the entire family with the training and she really incorporated our kids into the training even providing them with fun homework.
Kate was also extremely accessible via text and email as we had a lot of questions and her excellent follow up was extremely useful and important to us.
We learned a great deal from Kate and everyone in the entire family enjoyed our time with her and greatly benefited from her advice and counsel.
We wholeheartedly recommend Kate.

I started training my 3 year old high energy dog with Kate about 6 months ago. I was so chronically stressed about not knowing what to do or how to do it when it came to helping my dog. at about 1.5 years old my dog (doodle jude) started becoming fearful of everything, especially grooming and other dogs. As well as a multitude of other issues. With Kate we started working on one thing at a time.
At the beginning I decided to try to take her notes from our first meeting and doing it on my own, that was a mistake. Albeit a small one as her notes are so thorough we did make some headway. I contacted Kate and we set up her package with monthly check in’s and video footage review. As someone who has a hard time staying consistent this proved to work for me, and ensured i was doing it correctly.
At no time did I ever feel anything but comfortable and supported. I was reassured that I was a good owner (didn’t believe it at first but I do now) and I was in the right place. The first step is contacting Kate and setting up a meeting. You won’t regret it!

Words can not express how grateful I am to Kate for her guidance, expertise and support throughout our training, but I’m going to try anyway. When I started with her, I never could have imagined getting to the place we’re at now. I couldn’t take the garbage out without my dog having a panic attack. If I left him for even just 30 seconds, he would yell at me when I returned. Never in a million years did I think I would get to the point where my dog was not only ok with me being gone, but he was relaxed enough to sleep. It’s truly incredible.
One of the things we discussed at the onset was the potential for anxiety medication to aid in the training process. While I was admittedly very reluctant, a few months in, I agreed to meet with a behavior vet that Kate referred me to and once again with her guidance and the two of them working in tandem, we found the right fit and because of that I have a happier dog. He’s less anxious in all situations, not just being left alone. People I’ve met at the dog park notice the difference and can’t believe it. I was worried it would change him or make him dopey when in reality it’s helped his true personality really shine.
I’m overcome with gratitude and appreciation for all Kate has done for him AND for me! Towards the end I realized I was continuing for my own benefit as she’s such a huge support system and really the only person in my life who truly understands what I’m going through. I sing her praise to friends, family and everyone I meet at the dog park. If you think there’s a chance your dog may be anxious, have separation anxiety or even just needs basic obedience training – DO NOT HESITATE. Email her and schedule a consult! I promise, you will not regret it.

We highly recommend Rescued by Training to all pet parents! When we brought home our fearful dog we quickly realized we all needed help… and in came Kate, to the rescue! Kate supported us in understanding Rudy’s fearfulness and developing our own skills to work on those fears and successfully and safely live in NYC with a stranger-danger dog. Kate’s expertise and willingness to share her knowledge and resources gave us a sense of security and confidence. Kate was by our side every step of the way, celebrating our progress and always available to give advice and tweak plans as needed. When we moved out of NYC, Kate remotely supported us in transitioning to a new environment. Rudy’s life is SO much better having Kate as her ally (as is ours!) and we enthusiastically recommend Kate to anyone with a dog – fearful or not!

My husband and I had fostered a dog to adopt. We fell in love with him and had high intentions to keep him. We were told he was a shy dog and we have a quiet home for the most part, therefore a good fit. After 6 weeks, it became clear that he had several behavioral issues that we had been unaware of when we happily took him home. We had no experience with this type of thing and were referred to Kate. She explained the process in detail and helped us navigate through our angst and heartbreak over the realization that not only did our family and lifestyle not work with this dog, but that he would be better off with another family. Kate is a professional like no other in her field. She is not only a fountain of knowledge and detailed in her approach, but extremely caring of animals and their owners. We cannot say enough good things about Kate. Should we need help again, she’s the first person we will contact.

We knew within a month of receiving our Lagotto Romagnolo puppy that something was seriously wrong, and had no idea how to help her. Kate LaSala worked MIRACLES with our fearful dog just by training US. A year ago our 6 month old, Bisca, refused to go outside. We had to literally carry her out the door in our busy city neighborhood. There she would freeze, unwilling to take a single step, too fearful even to urinate, or she’d scramble in panic, ranging back and forth like a maniac, straining pitifully at the end of her leash in efforts to escape people walking by on the sidewalk, passing traffic, unfamiliar noises, even things flapping the breeze… she was absolutely terrified of everything but other dogs (loves other dogs) and us, her people. After working closely with Kate for the past several months, Bisca walks happily to the park every day where she romps in playful abandon with the other dogs and approaches people, even people she doesn’t know, for petting and treats! At home when the doorbell rings Bisca wags her entire back end furiously, pushing to the door to be first to greet whomever has arrived! The change that has resulted from Kate’s training plan is nothing short of astounding. We’ve had other dogs. Thought we knew dogs and how they think. We knew nothing. Thank God we found Kate.

The shelter referred me to Kate after I had asked about my dog’s stranger danger fears. I contacted her and was very pleased with how much time she spent communicating with me about my concerns before I even made a decision to book one of her training sessions.
We did finally decide to book with a group session and we’re so glad we did. It was clear that our dog remembered Kate and was very fond of her from his time in the shelter; she had worked with him while he was there.
Our rescue dog has exhibited a lot less of the fear reactions and is definitely a lot more confident. We had a very positive experience and look forward to more follow up sessions in the future.

Couldn’t be more grateful for Kate’s guidance and expertise. I was beyond overwhelmed when I figured out my dog had separation anxiety — he is my first dog, and he had a lot of other medical challenges at the time I had to start figuring out how to deal with his anxiety. Following her program (in conjunction with medicine/working with our vet as well) made the seemingly impossible task of improving his anxiety, and now he can be alone without even a drop of anxiety for hours, when he started at mere seconds. Really thankful for finding Kate to work through this training journey with us! We have a great foundation now and I know my dog and I are well positioned to keep moving forward.

I regularly recommend Kate to people looking for a qualified dog trainer in the NYC area. As a fellow dog pro, I only recommend trainers I know are up-to-date in their knowledge and are using safe and humane practices. Kate ticks these boxes and more.

I have worked with Kate off and on for my 2-year old hound mix. Her handouts and Q&A sessions have been AMAZINGLY helpful for our boy. He is definitely a happier pup thanks to Rescued by Training’s willingness to provide excellent resources and suggestions for Fur Moms and Dads to stay kind and sane! Hands down, I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for solid, kind training based on your own pup’s individual needs. Thank you, Kate, for all you do!

Five stars (I’d give more if I could!) for Rescued by Training. Can’t recommend it enough.
I worked with Kate after adopting my first pup, Bosco, when he started showing signs of aggression with people in the apartment. She was a GODSEND. I’d tried working with two trainers prior to Kate, but I had very little results before working with Kate.
As a first-time dog owner, I had a million questions; on top of her well of knowledge and experience, she is so patient, helpful, supportive, and understanding. Even working virtually, after just the intake session, I learned so much about dog behavior and training and was already seeing improvements with Bosco.
Her help extended way beyond just basic training and commands; Kate provided multiple resources for kong recipes, enrichment activities, new games, and fun ways to exercise Bosco’s brain and work his natural doggy instincts (German Shepherd, too smart for his own good), even online classes and videos to better understand dog’s body language so I could understand his playing style at the dog park. I hadn’t even considered a lot of these options, and it was a huge bonus!
After my pup started showing aggression towards me, Kate was always available— texting and emailing, offering advice at every step of the way. When it became a decision of whether or not to surrender Bosco, she was incredibly helpful in laying out what all my options were with treatments, medicines, and timelines moving forward, and provided guidance with both outcomes so that I had all the information to make the best decision for my dog and myself. Having to surrender Bosco was not easy by any means, but certainly was a lot easier with Kate’s help. She still checked in afterwards, making sure everything was ok, which was really sweet.
Was such a pleasure working with you Kate, thank you for everything!

There are many superlatives in which to describe Kate and the work she does. Knowledgeable, responsible, patient, and kind, but the one word that sums it all up, and that is generous. Kate is abundantly generous with the expert knowledge she has spent years acquiring and perfecting, and she is 100% committed to you and your dog’s success. An incredible source of expertise in a business that isn’t nearly regulated enough. She’s the real deal.

5 stars for Rescued By Training! Kate is brilliant — a unique combination of expertise that helps people to understand what their pup’s need, and can teach them how to deliver! She has taught our entire family (ages 42, 48, 8) how to teach, love, and train our 78lb rescue dog — we can’t thank her enough!

We feel SO lucky to have found Kate. She is a fantastic trainer who truly cares about animals. She has had such an impact on our 3-year old Australian Labradoodle and honestly on our family as a whole. She is trustworthy, extremely knowledgeable, and one of the most hardworking people we’ve ever met. Anyone who uses her will just adore her! (from Google)

Kate is the complete package with a bonus personality! She provided manageable solutions for my family of 5 dogs….each with their own nuances. In came Kate to the rescue! We worked on barking, jumping up, bulldog bossiness, assistance with measuring and muzzle training. She is a multi-tasking genius who is worth of 10 gold stars!

I reached out to Kate to address some behavioral concerns, like resource guarding, with my rescue dog who had been with me for nearly four years. I was uncomfortable with a previous trainer’s methods and was so impressed with the force-free training she exhibited in her Instagram videos. I was instantly put at ease in person by her calm demeanor and the comprehensive tools she provided. Even after just one training session, I felt an incredible sense of support – that Kate was and continues to be just as invested in our successes as I am!
Nearly a year later, I still refer to my Rescued by Training worksheets and Kate has proven to be a truly invaluable resource. Thank you Kate for giving us the tools and encouragement for success!

Your posts are informative and helpful. My dog is a 9 year old that was rescued by us 7 months ago so we benefit from your comments and have been able to help our girl through some issues.
Tess W. & Vera, NYC
After adopting our dog Vera, my partner and I realized that our precious puppy was having some fear based issues. On the month she turned one, she started to growl and snap at strangers who entered the house. After a terrible trainer experience (not all trainers are legitimate) and countless tears, my friend referred me to Kate. Kate was a breath of fresh air. She came to our house with a notebook full of information, helped us devise a training plan, left us with specific training techniques to deal with the issues at hand and helped us learn to read Vera’s body language and nonverbal cues. Not only did she give us the tools to train Vera but most importantly she gave us hope that if we kept up our training, things would get better. I loved how much attention she was able to give us and how she will continually check in and give us advice. We found a true gem in Kate. We were literally rescued by training. I highly recommend Kate to anyone who needs a knowledgeable and understanding person to help guide their dog and household in a positive direction.

Kate really knows what’s driving dogs to be aggressive and therefore how to help them and their owners. She’s very knowledgeable about the science behind the concepts she teaches.

Kate was awesome! My husband and I were having problems with our puppy suddenly displaying crate aggression. All of the local dog trainers were booked in our area and we were referred to Kate from out of state! Kate had a long conversation with my husband and I over the phone to get a better understanding of what we needed assistance with.
She took the time to really understand our lifestyle, what training we had previously done, etc. Kate immediately gave us advice to begin to retrain our puppy. We kept in constant communication via text, sending videos of progress, etc. to ensure we were following the correct steps.
Kate always checked in with us and encouraged us along the way. It was so powerful to see how distance didn’t have any impact on Kate’s ability to help us get our sweet loving little girl back 😊

I live in the suburbs of Chicago and have never had the pleasure of working with Kate, but her Facebook page is at the top of my favorite trainer (or doggie life coach) pages. Her page is filled with so much knowledge and fantastic advice. The info-graphics are awesome and you can see the joy exuding from the dogs in her videos. The dogs all look like they’re having a blast working with her. She is exactly what you want in a dog trainer, only using positive reinforcement, science-based, force free and fear free techniques. I share many of her posts weekly on my page and in foster groups I belong to. I also recommend her page to every family who I help adopt a dog to. She serves as a perfect example of what to look for in a dog trainer if you don’t happen to live in NYC. And if you do live in NYC, you are lucky to have her! Also, her personal dogs are adorable!

Have had my rescue, Lola, almost 2 years. She had major separation anxiety even though she was with a foster for 6 months before I got her. Anyway, using your Separation Anxiety steps helped tremendously. Lola can stay by herself now and just curl up into a little ball and sleep away the day. Thank you!!

Charlene N. & Charley (Google review)
Used Rescued by training years ago for our Charley. We followed her instructions and though Charley will always have anxiety and may be reactive at times, we have learned to watch what signals he is sending us and adjust accordingly. Charley also is fearful of noises and leaving the house. Little by little always seeing what Charley is up to doing, he will now walk about a half block away from the house. Thank you for your help!!!!!
Love reading the blog and posts!

Kate is knowledgeable and an excellent dog trainer. My dog had separation anxiety and with Kate’s knowledge and skills he was over it within 8 weeks.
Tayef and Josh F. & Bambi & Munchie Browns, NYC
We worked with Kate when we adopted our first fearful dog, Bambi, and again later with our second even more fearful dog, Munchie Browns. Kate has also been guiding the training when medication is needed (in collaboration with a vet behaviorist) which is the case with Munchie Browns. In both cases, Kate focused on each dog’s needs to develop a training plan for us to learn how to manage their anxieties and build their confidence through counter conditioning and positive reinforcement, never with fear or force. She never promises any magic overnight fixes but real, achievable goals that have allowed our dogs to gain the quality of life they deserve. Munchie’s first 6 months with us she wouldn’t go near the front door of our house. Today we are able to walk down our Brooklyn sidewalk and even go to the park on occasion.
Throughout our work with Kate she’s paid a lot of attention to us, the humans, as well. She checks in regularly and follows up. Kate goes above and beyond for both her human clients and their dogs. We’ve felt nothing but supported while working with her.
Laura B. & Bonnie, NYC
Before I contacted Kate, I was feeling really down as I was beginning to think that my dog, Bonnie, would never be able to walk well on the leash. We trained Bonnie on a head halter and worked on basics like Watch Me to help redirect her on walks. Kate showed me we can do it and we did!

Kate’s amazing! She can be counted on to tell you exactly what you need to know, and help you every step of the way. Well worth it.
