Dog Proofing 101: Prepare Your Home for a New, Foster, or Visiting Dog

Fostering has helped us process our grief, test the waters of having a new dog in our home, and give shelter dogs a much-needed break. Truly a win-win.

One thing we always do before bringing in a new foster? Dog proof the house, top to bottom. 

Even though our home has been dog-friendly for decades, every new dog is an unknown. That means taking extra steps to ensure their safety (and protect our stuff!). Dog-proofing isn’t just about caution—it’s about setting the dog up for success from day one.
