3 Reasons not to use a shock collar
Professional licensure is not required to call yourself a dog trainer in the US so not only does this mean consumers have no protection but it also means anyone calling themself a trainer can do practically anything to your dog, including hurting your dog. These trainers promise quick fixes or behavior guarantees, when in reality, neither exists.
And these unscrupulous “trainers” will not tell you about the fallout effects of these punishment based methods, but all the current research, veterinary organizations and animal behavior professionals, support humane training, not methods using fear, punishment or aversive methods that hurt or scare your pet.
It’s important to know if you’ve fallen victim to predatory training methods or were convinced aversive methods are the solution, IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. This is a symptom of an unregulated industry, with people posing as “professionals” with no recourse. But, you can change how you do things NOW.
I can help you.
